Meet the Cast and Crew of
Goodnight Desdemona
(Good Morning Juliet)
by Ann-Marie MacDonald
directed by Brian Mather
Constance Ledbelly falls down a rabbit hole. In this exuberant comedy, a scatterbrained academic deciphers an ancient manuscript she believes to be the original source of Othello and Romeo & Juliet. Before she knows it, she wanders into the plays themselves. With an abundance of twists, fights, dances, seductions and wild surprises, the play is an absolute joy of theatricality,

ASHLEE SALES
Constance Ledbelly
Ashlee is thrilled to be back on stage at The Village Theatre.
She has been involved with ECHO Players for many years as an actor, director and educator. Recent productions include Annie (Grace Farrell), The Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow),
Kinky Boots (Nicola), and The Play That Goes Wrong (Sandra). She is grateful to director Brian Mather, the production crew, and her fellow actors, for bringing this challenging and masterful work to life!
STEPHANIE BROSSARD
Ramona, Mercutio, Desdemona, Servant
Stephanie Brossard (she/her) is thrilled to be part of this ECHO Players’ production. Her first Nanaimo performance was a Panto at NTG in 2016. Since then, she has had the honour of performing with several different theatre groups in the mid-Island area. Stephanie enjoys the challenge of playing multiple characters. The record so far is 7 in the Western Edge production of The Untold Legend of Imogen Flight by Mary Littlejohn. Most recently, she acted in another of Mary’s wonderful plays: Poetry in Motion, which won Best Play at ECHO’s One Act Play Festival this past November.
MORGAN GOULD
Iago, Tybalt
Morgan Gould is thrilled to return to the stage with ECHO! You may recognize him from ECHO Players summer comedies The Play That Goes Wrong and A Grand Time in the Rapids. You may have also seen him onstage at NTG's Ripcord, Mother Goose, and last year's One Act Play Festival in The First to Stand. Morgan is a passionate artist, and can often be found behind the lens of a camera (he even did the poster for this play!). He would like to thank his partners, children, and cats for their love and support
IAN MORTON
Professor Claude Night, Othello, Juliet’s Nurse, Ghost
I am grateful to have been invited into this group of energetic and creative artists. I’ve had a ball. Gratitude must also be heaped on ECHO Players for the opportunities it has given me in the last 10 years - as well as a legion of kind friends and colleagues. So many of them march forward with big hearts and even bigger smiles. Last but not least, I owe all this to my beautiful wife Catherine. She keeps my dreams alive. Once more unto the breach!
TRISTAN POELZER
Student, Juliet
Tristan is excited to play a version of Juliet who is somehow even more dramatic, confusing, and passionate than Shakespeare intended. Previous credits include Joan in Three-Legged Dog’s Production of Fun Home, and the Acrobat in ECHO Players Matilda. Outside of theatre, Tristan enjoys dancing, avoiding family feuds, and wondering why Shakespearean teenagers are never supervised. She hopes you enjoy the chaos!
NOAH ROSNAU
Chorus, Soldier of Cyprus, Romeo
Noah is excited to join this amazing cast on stage in this quirky take on Shakespeare classics. When not on stage and not in tights, Noah spends his time attending Vancouver Island University, studying Hospitality Management and Baking. If you're wondering where you’ve seen this fool before, it may have been in ECHO Players: Matilda (Michael), Narnia (Peter), or CYMC's Legally Blonde (Kyle). Noah has enjoyed every moment of this show and its wonderful crew and can't wait to share a little of that joy with you!
BRIAN MATHER
DIrector
This is the fourth show Brian has directed for ECHO. After almost 75 years of being involved in theatre, he can imagine little that compares with taking a few thousand printed words and turning them into a living entity that holds audiences in a state of suspended disbelief for the two or so hours that the show runs.
He is honoured to work with such talented, dedicated people who devote endless hours to create the magic we know as “Theatre.” And he thanks his entire family and all his friends for their understanding and support over the years. He considers himself very lucky indeed.
CHARLIE WHELTON
Director’s Mentee
Charlie is grateful to the director, Brian, for allowing him to participate in this production as an ‘apprentice director’, and to the cast and crew for putting up with him in the process. It has been a humbling, eye-opening and ultimately very useful experience. Thank you!
JUDI ANDREWS & HILARY WHELTON
Producers
Judi has been a member of ECHO Players for almost 20 years. The first play she produced was You Can’t Get There From Here in 2012 and she hasn’t looked back! She produced this season’s first play The Melville Boys and now this play with Hilary Whelton.
Hilary is a singer and voice teacher who has coached many musicals with ECHO, B2B and others. She works with children and teens through ECHO’s Performing Arts Programs, most recently, ECHO Youth Theatre’s production of Anastasia. This is Hilary’s first sojourn into the world of the producer.
SARAH KIELLY
Stage Manager
Sarah is a performer, choreographer, and dance teacher from Nanaimo. Sarah was most recently seen stage managing ECHO Players fall show The Melville Boys and before that Sarah was seen behind the curtain choreographing Matilda (ECHO), Mamma Mia (3LDP) and stage managing Mary’s Wedding (ECHO). Some more favourite productions include original dance works created alongside frequent collaborator Kelly Barnum, Going Under & 90 Seconds (NDSS Dance). Sarah is thrilled to be back at ECHO this summer stage managing this amazing show with this incredible group of humans.
