It's sweet vs savoury in this DC inspired superhero panto. Join the Balsamic Duo, Bratman & Reuben, along with the rest of their Super Friends as they defend their Delicatessen from the evil Baker and his sweet sidekick Dairy Quinn. Will they taste sweet victory, or will revenge be served up on a cold dish. Find out in the world premier of this bratastic new adventure!

JAY NEWMAN
Writer and Director
After two exciting appearances on stage this year in Deathtrap and Kinky Boots, Jay is excited for his directorial debut With ECHO Players. Back in Calgary, he had directed several productions including The Sleeping Beauty Pantomime, No Sex Please, We’re British and Singin’ in the Rain. As a playwright, this is his 8th play to be produced.
ETHAN LIEDL
Bratman
Ethan is 17 years old and is currently attending Ballenas secondary in grade 12. He plans to attend university and pursue his love for the performing arts. Ethan has recently preformed in Ballenas secondary’s Grease as Danny Zuko and ECHO youth Mean Girls as Arron Samuels.
EVA SIMPSON
Dairy Quinn
Eva is a local performer trained in both classical and musical theatre. Recent credits include Kinky Boots (Echo Players), Mean Girls (EYT), and the upcoming Annie (QBSD) at the Village Theatre. She is passionate about storytelling through song and continues to grow her craft through vocal and performance training.
BRIAN LECKY
The Baker
Brian Lecky: After fifteen productions with Echo Players, Brian finally gets to be “The Villain”; a diabolical baker who sets out to conquer his world with (Wait for it) baked goods. A big thank you to Jay Newman for letting me participate in this premiere of his hilarious pantomime. Beware the Cherpumple!
ROWAN BALCARRAS
Rueben
Born in Richmond but has lived in Vancouver, Ladner, Newmarket Ontario, St Stephen NB, and now Qualicum Beach. Rowan has been performing as a singer and actor since she was six, including performances in The Lion King, Willy Wonka, Moana, Oklahoma, Mean Girls and more. Rowan is a member of two choirs at Kwalicum Secondary and performs as a solo artist locally. She trains classically with a local vocal trainer and performs with a jazz combo. Other than her passion for reading and painting, her favorite things are musicals and travel.
